As modern golfing equipment allows players to hit a golf ball further and more precisely than ever, today’s golf courses must be wider and larger, which can be quite challenging from a landscaping point of view. Because of this challenge, both PE and PVC geomembranes have been incorporated in the design of the modern golf course. Man-made obstacles (golf hazards) like small water ponds or lakes must be created in order to add challenge for the players. Geomembranes need to be used to line the ponds and lakes to avoid leakage. Similarly, large golf courses often require a lined water reservoir to accumulate rainwater for irrigational purposes.
